About Me
Who I Am:
My name is Jayleen. I’m a Web Designer from Southern California. I'm also
a mother of three beautiful girls and did I mention I'm happily married! About
now, you're asking yourself, why the name JaybirdsWeb? Well, it's simple enough,
Jaybird is my nickname from childhood, and the Web of course stands for the World
Wide Web, which has become my home away from home.
History:
For over the past several years, I've been working which seems
endlessly on my computer, learning as much as possible about
all aspects of web design, from coding HTML, PHP, CSS to creating
graphics in various image editing programs. You ask how, and
why this obsession on the computer? Hmm, it started out so simple,
long ago I bought my first computer, shall I mention it was a
Packard Bell, (hey no laughing or booing)! I knew almost nothing
about computers. At that time, the main purpose was to use Microsoft
Office and to help my husband with his business. So, one day
I was surfing the web when I happened across an online school
that offered a class in HTML, before long I was hooked. Two years
later, I did create a web site for my husband's business.
Now:
I'm still taking classes, it seems that I'll never
know it all, nor will the challenges ever end. Some days I'm
chewing on my pen, and pounding my fist trying to get something
to work, (sound like fun) NOT! When it does work than
I'm doing the happy dance, so in the end I'm loving every minute
of it!
Okay, I hear another question, why have a personal site? Just for the
sheer fun of it, so I can have a site without worrying if is cross-browser
compliant etc., guess you could call it my testing field.
So take a look around, check out my resource and tutorial section and if you're not using FireFox to browse the web then you're missing out, GET FIREFOX :-)
